That I have a 40 year background as a Dental Hygienist, working clinically in practice, supporting patients in preventing and treating dental disease. As a clinical Dental Hygienist I play a vital role in helping patients maintain a healthy oral environment, with a focus on prevention, and providing minimally invasive treatment protocols.
More recently, the connection between oral and systemic health has become more prevalent. We now, through years of research, that the mouth is a key gateway to whole body health, and poor gum health can have far reaching effects on your body systems.
Did you also know:
Gum disease can be linked to over 55 inflammatory diseases within the body, including conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, and there is a direct correlation between severe gum disease and Heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, Pregnancy complications, respiratory infections, Strokes and Diabetes, and many other conditions impacting all body systems.
Your oral health is not just about teeth. It is a reflection of your overall health and resilience, and its importance should be considered alongside resilience pillars such as sleep, movement, nutrition, stress management and hydration.
Neglecting oral care can lead to severe gum disease, or periodontal disease, leading to inflammation and discomfort, bad breath, tooth loss, illness, and self-consciousness. These can all chip away at your self-esteem and confidence, as well as negatively impacting your physical health. By prioritising your oral health care, you are building a foundation for physical vitality and inner resilience.
With my background as a clinical Dental Hygienist combined with my experience as a Health and Wellness Coach, I am uniquely positioned to to empower clients to take control of their gum health by blending my clinical knowledge with holistic, habit focused strategies.
