Give Your Animal the Love It Deserves

Working with and helping animals has always been a passion of mine. My journey towards animal healing was a gradual one, with me starting out working holistically with humans for several years, only to feel like something was missing. I was then introduced to Elizabeth Whiter who runs a diploma in Animal Healing from the Healing Animals Organisation. I spent over 18 months studying Animal Healing, Sensory Enrichments and Canine Massage, and I discovered that this was the missing piece of my jigsaw.

Having had my own cats, Benny and Bear, I wanted a way to honour them, and through animal healing I can do that by helping other families – both animals and their guardians. I am trained extensively in using Reiki Healing for animals and humans, along with Canine Massage, Sensory Enrichments, and Red Light Therapy.

This work is a key part of my healing work ~ being able to give love, compassion, and healing to all animals is what makes my heart sing.

My work with animal healing is conducted in the animals place of residence - at home or in rescue - approximately 5 - 8 miles from Kingston upon Thames.

How Animal Healing Works

Animals are inherently sensitive and, as a result, extremely receptive to the healing power of Reiki. I work with small companion animals of all kinds particularly rescued and rehomed cats, dogs and other animals who understandably experience higher levels of stress and anxiety. It is normal for animals to have all kinds of insecurities and anxieties that contribute to internal stress, adversely affecting their physical, mental, and emotional health.

By providing a safe and nurturing healing space, we can help to restore a state of balance and optimum wellness, allowing them the time and space to restore their own health and feel less agitated by stress, anxiety, or anything else that’s bothering them.

I also work with animals and their guardians together. Stress, anxiety and physical illness carried by the guardian may be affecting the animal and vice versa. We live in such close proximity to each other, that is no wonder that our animal friends sometimes pick up on our emotional and physical cues. That is why I do not just work with the animal, but I can also provide healing for the guardians, carers and rescuers.

Relax HAOK9 massage® aims to address and support healing for general wellbeing, mobility, recovery and promote improvement in quality of life and relaxation. Relax HAOK9 Massage® is not a single technique based therapy but a multi modal approach to holistic wellbeing for dogs.

As a Relax HAOK9 Massage® Practitioner, I provide a non-manipulative massage therapy session that can provide huge physical and psychological benefits for your canine companion.

Providing a therapeutic massage can:

  • Reduce the impact of stress and anxiety
  • Reduce muscle tension
  • Support healing and recovery
  • Support general wellbeing
  • Reduce and manage pain
  • Reduce stiffness and aid mobility
  • Improve quality of life

Sensory Enrichment

As an Animal Choices Practitioner, I work with the animal and guardian, to provide a unique and rich sensory experience to enhance your animal’s health and diet. Using natural herbs, honeys and other completely natural plant materials, we work to add vital nutritional support to your animal’s diet, whilst engaging with all their senses.

It is with this knowledge and understanding that, as an Animal Choices Practitioner, I work with a range of *eight highly nutritious food oils that have been infused with fresh and wholesome plant materials to supplement your animal’s dietary needs. This works on a self-selection basis – your animal knows instinctively what they need to make themselves feel well – it is their choice.

*Rosehip, Calendula, Chickweed, Catnip, Bladderwrack, Nettle, Linseed, Mint

All are offered on a self-selection basis only - fresh plant materials, herbs, honeys and macerated plant oils.

PLEASE NOTE:

These supplements cannot be offered to animals with a history of Pancreatitis.

Red Light Therapy

Red Light Therapy is a completely safe, non-invasive and effective complementary therapy that can be used to accelerate healing at a cellular level. The low level infra-red effectively recharges the energy within the cell to restore function – increasing blood flow, water and nutrient intake and increasing waste removal. The red light device increases healing and pain relief and can be used to help in the management of:

  • Arthritis pain and stiffness
  • Inflammation and swelling
  • Bruising and wound healing
  • Skin conditions
  • Stress fractures.

There is a multitude of research into the effectiveness of Red Light Therapy and the Photizo Vetcare model is the leading light in this therapy. I now use this red light device on my ginger tom, Benny, to manage the pain and stiffness associated with his pelvic arthritis. Just a few weeks ago he was withdrawn and hiding under the bed for hours at a time. He is now off disappearing outside having adventures for hours at a time. This red light therapy device really does help in reducing his pain and stiffness.

Please Note:

Holistic animal healthcare is NOT an alternative to veterinary care. If your animal is unwell, please seek advice from a veterinarian. I cannot claim to diagnose, prescribe, treat, cure, or perform surgery on any animal. Animal healing is a strictly complementary therapy that should be used in conjunction – not instead of – conventional veterinary healthcare.

I feel it is such an honour to be able to work with the animal world. They have a lot that they can teach us, especially in showing true compassion for those that have been rehomed and rescued. To witness the changes in their behaviour as they become less afraid and more relaxed – their confidence growing and their anxieties becoming less – it is truly beautiful.

If you have an animal that is experiencing stress or someother issue, feel free to get in touch and we can arrange an initial chat. These sessions are held in the animals place of residence - at home or in a rescue. Approximately 5-8 miles radius of Kingston upon Thames.

I am also here to answer any questions you might have about health and healing for humans in Kingston upon Thames.
